Tierra McCain’s coaching debut has been solid at Enterprise Junior High School as her Lady Wildcats freshmen are 3-0.
The latest victim was city rival Dauphin Junior Lady Dolphins, whom they beat 29-27, 13-25, 15-11 Thursday.
McCain said serves were the key for the Lady Wildcats. She said Jin-Mi Matsunaga, Jasmyne Kilow and Chelsey Scott led the team in that department.
She added Matsunaga set the ball well, allowing players such as Scott to have good spikes.
McCain said the match was a challenge.
“Dauphin was really good. They were spiking the ball a lot,”she said.
She added her Lady Wildcats “let the ball hit the floor too much” in the second set.
Lady Dolphins head coach Patsy Holland said confidence is an issue with her squad.
“The skills are there, but the confidence is not,” she said of her 4-3 squad.

Thompson added six points and three digs.
