An early-morning accident about three miles west of Bakerhill killed 18-year-old James Bradley Williams of Eufaula on Sunday, according to a report from the Alabama State Highway Patrol.
The 7:25 a.m. single-vehicle crash on Barbour County Road 71 near County Road 22 ejected Williams from the passenger seat of a 2003 GMC Sierra. The coroner pronounced him dead at 8:40 a.m.
The 16-year-old driver, who came upon a sharp curve and lost control of the vehicle, was airlifted to a Columbus, Ga. hospital. His name has not been released.
The crash is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
