An unborn baby was killed Wednesday morning in a Boll Weevil Circle traffic accident that also injured three others, according to an Enterprise Police Department press release.
According to Captain Mike Lolley, 21-year-old Andalusia resident Christie Leigh Gerry, who was eight months pregnant, was traveling west in a Pontiac Sunfire on Boll Weevil Circle with her 19-month-old child when 84-year-old Chancellor resident Ruth Reeves reportedly pulled out in front of Gerry in a Ford Crown Victoria at the intersection of Bellwood Road.
The unborn child was killed as a result of the collision and the other three involved were transported to Medical Center Enterprise, according to the release. The 19-month-old child was reportedly later flown to the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham due to a head injury.
