The math skills of several Wiregrass Christian Academy students added up to a $900 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Participating students were recognized for their efforts Tuesday morning, receiving prizes based on the amount of money they collected during a recent “Math-a-Thon” fund raiser for the hospital.
Students won certificates, T-shirts, backpacks and passes to Six Flags Over Georgia. Grand prize winner Frantz Pierre walked away with all of that plus a brand new radio.
Faculty members said the school has raised around $6,000 for the children’s hospital over the years through participation in the Math-a-Thon fund raiser.
