Spring has sprung, and the Enterprise Recreation Department is inviting the community to sweep out their closets and participate in its first-ever, community-wide yard sale.

The event will take place on April 19, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., behind the Moose Hope Gym on East Lee Street. In the case of inclimate weather, Program Coordinator Warren Bowron said the sale will move indoors to the recreation building and even into the gym if necessary.

Bowron said vendors may sign up now by calling 334-348-2684. Spaces will be 20 feet by 20 feet, and the $20 fee includes the use of an eight-foot table and two chairs. Deadline to sign up is April 11, and Bowron said they are looking to attract at least 60 vendors. According to a press release, vendors can sign up for two or more spaces at $20 per space.

“It’s going to be a great day to have everybody come out to one location,” Bowron said, noting that yard salers will enjoy saving money on fuel that day.
Bowron also noted that there will be no baseball games scheduled on that day, so there will be plenty of space for the sale and plenty of parking spaces for participants and shoppers.

Families will be able to make a full outing of the yard sale, because consessions, including hot dogs, will be served. Bowron said coffee will also be available early that morning for vendors, who will be invited to start setting up as early as 5 a.m.

For more information, those interested may call 334-348-2684.
