A police investigation continues in the early Sunday morning robbery of the HOBO Pantry store on Rucker Boulevard in Enterprise.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have any leads at this time,” Enterprise Police Captain Mike Lolley said Tuesday.
Lolley said the corner convenience store, which is also a Chevron gas station, fell victim around 5 a.m. Easter morning when a suspect entered the store’s office area and found the clerk there with a bag of money. Lolley said the suspect then used what appeared to be an ordinary steak knife to strike at the clerk, who received a minor cut on the finger when defending himself.
Lolley said there were no other employees or any customers in the store at the time of the robbery. He said the store is equipped with a closed circuit video monitoring system, and that investigators are currently studying the footage for clues.
According to a press release, the suspect is described as being a 5-foot, 10-inch, 260-pound black male, who was wearing blue jeans and a tan shirt and had a white scarf over his face during the robbery.
Lolley said the suspect took the money and exited the store, but he said not much else is known beyond that.
“We don’t know if he left in a car or on foot,” Lolley said.
The store is located about three miles down Rucker Boulevard from the Boll Weevil Circle.
Anyone with information about Sunday morning’s incident is asked to contact the Enterprise Police Department at 334-347-2222.
