Local law enforcement agencies arrested two people last Friday who had failed to report their whereabouts to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 34-year-old Joseph Daniel Baer of Elba and charged him with felony failure to meet sex offender registration requirements, according to arrest reports. Baer, who was convicted of sodomy in 2005, was forced to move several weeks ago after his house caught fire.

Enterprise police also arrested 57-year-old Martha Louise Davis of Mill Avenue and charged her with felony failure to meet registration requirements. Davis, who has lived in Enterprise for two years, was given sex offender status because of a 1972 conviction in Virginia for sodomy and abduction of a female for immoral purposes, according to Capt. Mike Lolley.

In other law enforcement news, sheriff’s deputies arrested 36-year-old Christopher Thomas Danley of Brantley on a September warrant last week and charged him with misdemeanor cruelty to animals. According to Chief Deputy Ronnie Whitworth, Danley neglected six horses on County Road 363 by not providing them any food of water.

Also last week, Enterprise police arrested 50-year-old Willie Charles “Bubba” McCray of Grimes Street and charged him with felony third-degree robbery. According to Lolley, McCray was allegedly caught shoplifting from a hardware store and shoved the store clerk.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Steven Randall Brewster, 33 and Jennifer Brewster, 28, both of Friendship Street, and charged them with felony unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Deputies also arrested both Joshua Clarence Luke, 21, of New Brockton and Marvin Williams, 38, of Fleming Street in Enterprise, and charged them with felony motion to revoke bond.

The Sheriff’s Department arrested 28-year-old Travis Marks of Hildreth Street on Monday and charged him with felony failure to appear on a possession of cocaine charge.

Deputies arrested Marshall Stuart Johnson, 38, of County Road 341 on Monday and charged him with felony failure to appear on a negotiating worthless negotiable instrument charge.

Deputies also arrested 51-year-old Jay Boyd Killingsworth of County Road 266 on a warrant and charged him with felony misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Upon Killingsworth’s arrest, the officer charged him with misdemeanor unlawful possession of an open container.

Enterprise police arrested 45-year-old Sybil Nelson of West Adams Street and charged him with second-degree felony domestic violence assault.
