Enterprise police arrest three on drug charges

Enterprise police made three different drug arrests Thursday and Friday, which resulted in the capture of Ortiz Betney, 28, on seven charges ranging from first degree assault to resisting arrest.
According to reports, Betney of Stonewall Street in Enterprise, was traveling on the Damascus Highway when police tried to arrest him and Betney resisted, but was contained quickly by police.
The suspect was wanted on several outstanding warrants including assault, first degree, posession of marijuana, second, possession of drug paraphenalia, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, assault, third degree and a Coffee County warrant on a probation violation.
Enterprise police transported Betney to the Coffee County Jail Friday where he remains as of press time.
Late Thursday night, police arrested and charged Lagina Mack, 28, of Dixie Drive, Enterprise, with first degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphenalia. Mack was released on a $1,000 bond for the possession of paraphenalia charge and $3,000 on the marijuana charge.
Also Thursday, Derric Warren Allen, 28, of Watts Street, Enterprise, turned himself into the Coffee County Jail on a 2007 grand jury indictment on a charge of possession of cocaine. Allen was released on a $5,000 bond.
