Hillcrest Elementary on track despite delays
Enterprise City Schools officials are breathing a little easier this week after several days of good weather have allowed construction crews to make great strides on the new Hillcrest Elementary School foundation.

Kindergarten registration for the Coffee County Schools will begin April 22.

Police investigate Enterprise store robbery
A police investigation continues in the early Sunday morning robbery of the HOBO Pantry store on Rucker Boulevard in Enterprise.

Police investigate store robbery
Enterprise Police are investigating a robbery that, according to the press release, occurred Sunday morning around 5 a.m. at the HOBO Pantry on Rucker Boulevard.
City tightens up on leash law
Break out the leashes and pooper scoopers, because City of Enterprise officials are stepping up their enforcement of the city’s animal control rules and ordinances.
Recreation dept. hosts yard sale
Spring has sprung, and the Enterprise Recreation Department is inviting the community to sweep out their closets and participate in its first-ever, community-wide yard sale.

Donated batting cages to open Friday behind Moose Hope gym
The City of Enterprise announced that its Power Alley Batting Cages will open Friday, March 21. The batting cages, which were donated by former owner Steve Matherly, are located behind the Moose Hope Gymnasium and next to the Thornton Field parking lot.

April trial date set for Enterprise man facing rape, sodomy charges
An Enterprise man charged with five counts of rape and two counts of sodomy, will face trial on the charges in an Elba courtroom in April. Anthony Hutchison was arrested in February on charges of rape and sodomy allegedly involving a 15- year-old female.
Tax issue vote set for April 1
The Enterprise City Council Tuesday night hosted its first official public hearing on extending a 3.5 mil property tax increase to help pay for rebuilding Enterprise High and Hillcrest Elementary schools.

Enterprise First Baptist breaks ground on student building
First Baptist Church of Enterprise broke ground Sunday for a three-story student building that church leaders say will greatly extend their ability to minister to families. Construction, scheduled to begin on March 31, is expected to be completed by April 1, 2009, according to Pastor Lance Hogan.
Enterprise gas station suffers damage during collision
Patrons at the Conoco gas station on the east side of the Boll Weevil Circle had a closeup view of a wreck when this small Kia sedan smashed into a brick storage building on the edge of the property Tuesday afternoon.

Investigation continues in stabbing death of Enterprise man
An Enterprise man was pronounced dead after being driven to the front of the Daleville Police Department Sunday evening about 6:30. Daleville Police Chief Ronnie Williams said a vehicle pulled in front of the police department and the occupants jumped out and yelled that the man had been stabbed.
Enterprise St. Patrick’s Day parade still the world’s smallest
Enterprise is still the reigning champ of smallest St. Patrick’s Day parades. When the clock struck noon Monday, sole parade participant Kathleen Sauer stepped off the Coffee County Courthouse lawn and marched down College Street bedecked in green while waving the Irish national flag. Nearly 100 spectators dotted the sidewalks and cheered as Sauer trekked the single city block, circled the Boll Weevil Monument on Main Street and returned to the courthouse.

Storm rips through downtown Enterprise
A tornado touched down on Boll Weevil Circle in front of Mellow Mushroom at approximately 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
‘We need your prayers’
State officials reported at least five people died at Enterprise High School Thursday when a tornado ripped through the school and other parts of Enterprise.
Victim count continues to change; some names released
The death toll from Thursday’s tornado in Enterprise now stands a nine; eight Enterprise High School students and one senior citizen.
